Last week I was contacted by Daina Goldfinger at Global News to discuss real estate trends in Waterloo Region related to COVID-19. She sought to answer the question: Could the coronavirus prompt an urban exodus in Ontario?
The answer? There is definitely a shift being observed as people are looking to social distance themselves in one of the most major ways as the make plans to move to Waterloo Region and elsewhere.
In this video I recap the article and also share some additional feedback how this could affect economic and real estate trends everywhere and of course in Waterloo Region.
In addition to my input, Daina also interviewed Max Hahne, Broker of Record and licensed partner of Engel and Völkers Collingwood Muskoka and Bruce Peninsula who discussed the impacts in cottage country.
She also reached out to Shauna Brail, an associate professor and director of the University of Toronto’s urban studies program as well as Diana Petramala, a senior researcher at Ryerson University’s Centre for Urban Research and Land Development.
